Academic integrity to me is being true and honest to your own work; no cheating or plagiarizing! If worked hard to earn a good grade on an assignment, without cheating, then I feel as if everyone else should do the same. I would feel better knowing that I've worked hard to earn a good grade, rather than to know I had to cheat just to get by. I feel as if those who do cheat are usually the ones who procracinate; and well quite frankly don't deserve a good grade. Is cheating really worth having an F on your transcript? I would be embarrassed to tell anyone. If you're going to use a website to write a paper, at lease use ALL the references you use. If Denise in "The Pressure of Being Denise," had listed the other reference she used, the professor probably would have been more understanding. The worst that could have happened was that he wouldn't give her the extra credit. Instead of following her gut about her leaving FREE-ESSAY.com out of her paper, she listened to her boyfriend Larry. Mary did the right thing by telling the professor about Denise; and the professor did the right thing by following the school rules in failing her. She deserved that F and probabtion, just as any student who feels the need to cheat does. It's not fair to those who strive to make good grades.
